We've spent the summer working on new songs (also: swimming, moving and drinking a fair amount of Anti-Hero). But the apparent break is coming to an end, thanks to the following:
CHICAGO SHOW: And so it begins. We got added to a show of Chicagoland staples at the Cobra Lounge on September 7th (also on the bill: Full, The Hallow, Set Fire to Reason and Calling All Cars). It's a reunion show for Full – "hyper melodic post punk power pop" from the early 90s – and some of the other bands feature members of some bands you've probably heard of. All in all, we're stoked to be on board. And it'll be the first of a few this Fall. In other words, more shows TBA.
RECORDING: We've got a handful of new songs in the works, picking right up where Mercies I-V (and "Mistakes Worth Making") left off, and we're heading into Downbeat Studio with Mike Govaere on September 28th/29th to start tracking drums for the new batch. From there we'll be holed up at Highwires Chicago to record the rest into October and November. Expect a release on Highwires in the Spring.
HIGHWIRES: Speaking of, our good friends in The Kinison just put up a 3-song EP for preorder via Highwires. Check it out.
And that's the news from the front. If you're in Chicago, come see us on the 7th.
